The Hippodrome, Leicester Square, London

I always love Bank Holiday weekends as it is well needed down time for all of us.  We always go a bit mad when we know that we have three days ahead of us where when we do not have to hit the alarm button!

On Friday night I was invited to a friends final fling before she went back to LA.  We started the evening at The Hippodrome.  I can hear some of you groaning about the Hippodrome as old fashioned and not a hip and trendy place to be!!  Well, you are wrong.  It is a great place to start your night.

We all met up in the Hippodrome Restaurant, Heliot.   This is not a usual place that I would think of going.  It is now going to be one of my stalwarts when people ask me where to eat.  The food is incredible. The staff are so friendly and nothing is a problem.  You can hear the sound of casino chips going down from the tables below and you could be in Vegas.  Time seems to stop when you walk into the Hippodrome.

I ordered the Lobster Fish Fingers.  They were melt in the mouth and something I have never ever had anything like it before.  It was well presented and delicious.  Everyone had something different and just as delicious.  I even saw the infamous Mac and Cheese going to one of the tables and it looked delicious.

Before we knew it, it was 10pm and we had to get to our friends party.

You should put the Hippodrome on your list to go and see.  It is well worth it and who doesn't want to experience that little bit of Vegas??

Happy Bank Holiday Monday.

Love
