On Easter Sunday my family and I treated ourselves to a slap up meal in Balthazar, Covent Garden. We had fallen in love with Balthazar when we visited the restaurant in New York last year and we were so excited to learn that it was making its way over to London.
We had to make an early reservation as the restaurant was already fully booked for Easter Sunday so we trundled over to Covent Garden for a five o'clock table. The restaurant was buzzing even at such an early part of the day and it looked exactly like it had in New York. I could almost imagine that on the other side of the doors was the noisy and bustling streets of Soho, NYC. We had a cocktail at the bar whilst our table was being prepared which was rather yummy and we were then escorted to our lovely table in a perfect corner of the restaurant.
I ordered scallops to start, roasted cod with crushed potatoes for my main and for dessert a rather naughty but very scrumptious raspberry and almond bakewell tart with vanilla ice cream. The food was so tasty and we were positively stuffed by the end, but somehow I still managed to go home and scoffed down some malteasers with a movie!
What a perfect end to my Easter Sunday!
