Every girl loves a bit of pampering now and then: mani-pedis, massages, foot rubs, getting our hair done, waxes (ouch!). But these days, especially living in London, it’s so expensive and I find it hard to feel relaxed when I am forking out £60 odd pounds for a treatment.
But, don’t fear, Miss Jones has the answer. I have found THE place to go to get all of the above without feeling guilty about spending lots of money. It’s a beauty school located near Barbican tube called The London School of Beauty and Make-Up. I went there the other week with my colleague and we had a half hour back and neck massage and it cost £14! Bargain! But it wasn’t a cheap service, it was very professional. The masseuse, although training, was excellent and the atmosphere and massage suite were very calming, the ideal way to wind down after a stressful day at work.
Here’s how it works, it’s a female only centre and all the girls are training to be beauty therapists. You get your proper beauty session with them and then you have a short chat with their teacher and give them your feedback. But these girl’s aren’t sloppy and making mistakes, they are already at a very professional level so you are truly getting value for your money.
Some other bargains that the school has to offer: one hour Swedish body massage £25, pedicure £15, manicure £10, bikini wax £8, haircut £35.
So now you don’t have to break the bank to look beautiful every day.
